Please be aware that we are NOT a travel clinic. We DO NOT offer travel vaccinations  for patients who are not registered with us.

When travelling abroad it's important to check if you require travel vaccinations. Most of the time your travel agent will let you know this when you book the trip however if you are unsure you can visit: www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk

We offer travel consultations with our Practice Nurse who can offer you general travel advice to stay healthy whilst abroad. We will also check your immunisation history and what vaccinations are recommended for your destination. If you require any of these vaccinations then we will inform you of this. If we are able to provide you with the vaccinations and you consent to having them done you have the option of these being given during this appointment or you can make an alternative appointment to come back.

It is important when you're travelling abroad to book an appointment with us in plenty of time to have your vaccinations done; we usually advise booking an appointment 3-6 months before you travel and no later than 4-6 weeks before you leave. This is because vaccinations take time to build up in your system and by failing to have them done early enough means that you will not receive the entire benefit of the vaccination and will potentially still be at risk on contracting the condition.

Unfortunately if you do not contact us early enough we cannot guarentee an appointment to have these injections done at the surgery. If this is the case you can either go to another GP practice as a tempory patient to have these done or you will need to attend a Travel Clinic and pay their private fees. It is not the responsibility of the practice to provide you with the injections if you fail to contact us in plenty of time or we are unable to offer you an appointment due to our nurse being unavailable.

The following vaccinations are what we stock in practice and are what can be given free of charge under the NHS.
